I don't count the monetary value of the presents because, as you say, it's about each of them getting something they wanted.bronwyngordonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02048506676204085935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5046609680738979900.post-2718324634533551172012-11-19T08:40:41.750-08:002012-11-19T08:40:41.750-08:00You're right. But numbers also help us count our blessings, whether we're old or not.Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15640511681168230116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5046609680738979900.post-77635686587709397062012-11-15T15:38:26.120-08:002012-11-15T15:38:26.120-08:00Some of those numbers are good and even fun! The age, the weight, those aren't important to me, but the bank account number and number IN there, well, that's important so as to assure a little heat, a little light and a lot of food cooked.

The numbers in Christmas have changed for me over the years. I now count packages, making sure everyone gets the same number (grand kids, I mean) and what I spent is irrelevant as long as they got something they wanted or will love.

I love this piece. ♥ Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18285427147723972295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5046609680738979900.post-20340988991959267162012-11-15T13:49:20.142-08:002012-11-15T13:49:20.142-08:00"In terms of numbers, I am poor..and old"..."In terms of numbers, I am poor..and old"
I can relate to that! Well, maybe not "Officially" poor, but I could always use some more numbers!

Every year, the "numbers" of Christmas seems to start earlier. Used to be, nothing was put on the store shelves until after Thanksgiving. This year I went out to buy some Halloween stuff and wound up with a Christmas tree!
Great blog!NiceInOhiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04003689430700422425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5046609680738979900.post-14762069880355287912012-11-15T09:02:17.490-08:002012-11-15T09:02:17.490-08:00A few years ago--we had an "old fashioned&quo...A few years ago--we had an "old fashioned" Christmas with the kids. We vowed to MAKE each other presents to give. There was very little buying outside the Christmas dinner. We turned on zero electronics that day--we sang songs--played the keyboard and danced around the house.

The truth be known, it was the year I was laid off from my job and money was extremely tight. However, to this day, my kids swear it is their most memorable Christmas ever.

Cheers, JennJennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07559573562599754752noreply@blogger.com
